Hello.
I've been struggling with getting Helix-Banshee (H-B) working properly for several days. I'm running openSUSE 10.3. H-B is reporting an error when trying to import a CD, either as root or a regular user. Output is MP3 for what its worth. I've finally located this error in .xsession-errors: Debug: [11/13/2007 11:20:54 PM] (Ripping CD and Encoding with Pipeline) - audioconvert ! xingenc bitrate=128 ! id3v2mux Warning: [11/13/2007 11:20:54 PM] (Could not unlock CD-ROM drive) - /dev/ sr0 Error: [11/13/2007 11:20:54 PM] (Cannot Import CD) - Could not open CD device for reading.: gstcdparanoiasrc.c(240): gst_cd_paranoia_src_open (): /pipeline/cddasrc: cdda_identify failed Stacktrace: at (wrapper managed-to-native) GLib.Marshaller.g_malloc (uintptr) <0x00004> at (wrapper managed-to-native) GLib.Marshaller.g_malloc (uintptr) <0xffffffff> at GLib.Marshaller.StringToPtrGStrdup (string) <0x00061> at Gtk.Label..ctor (string) <0x00189> at Banshee.Widgets.HigMessageDialog..ctor (Gtk.Window,Gtk.DialogFlags,Gtk.MessageType,Gtk.Bu ttonsType,string,string) <0x00314> at Banshee.PlayerUI.ShowLogCoreEntry (Banshee.Base.LogEntry) <0x00141> at Banshee.PlayerUI.OnLogCoreUpdated (object,Banshee.Base.LogCoreUpdatedArgs) <0x00010> at Banshee.Base.LogCore.QueueNotify (Banshee.Base.LogEntry) <0x00038> at <>c__CompilerGenerated59.<Push>c__174 (object,System.EventArgs) <0x00013> at InvokeCB.Invoke () <0x00018> at TimeoutProxy.Handler () <0x0002e> at (wrapper native-to-managed) TimeoutProxy.Handler () <0xffffffff> at (wrapper managed-to-native) Gtk.Application.gtk_main () <0x00004> at (wrapper managed-to-native) Gtk.Application.gtk_main () <0xffffffff> at Gtk.Application.Run () <0x00007> at Gnome.Program.Run () <0x00007> at Banshee.BansheeEntry.Startup (string[]) <0x007f4> at (wrapper delegate-invoke) System.MulticastDelegate.invoke_void_string [] (string[]) <0xffffffff> at Banshee.Gui.CleanRoomStartup.Startup (Banshee.Gui.CleanRoomStartup/ StartupInvocationHandler,string[]) <0x000aa> at Banshee.BansheeEntry.Main (string[]) <0x00038> at (wrapper runtime-invoke) Banshee.BansheeEntry.runtime_invoke_void_string[] (object,intptr,intptr,intptr) <0xffffffff> Native stacktrace: banshee [0x8170bea] banshee [0x813b3b2] [0xffffe440] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_malloc+0x97) [0xb7d0ed07] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_malloc+0x36) [0xb7e4fd66] [0xb5ee802c] [0xb5ee71d2] [0xb10b69fa] [0xb020bccd] [0xb026d202] [0xb020af01] [0xb29a9bc1] [0xb29a9b24] [0xb29a9ab9] [0xb2b7dc3f] [0x92143e3] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 [0xb7e48bb6] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_main_context_dispatch+0x176) [0xb7e48446] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 [0xb7e4b7e2] /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0(g_main_loop_run+0x1e7) [0xb7e4bbc7] /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0(gtk_main+0xb4) [0xb6889244] [0xb0b83e96] [0xb0b83e58] [0xb0b83e38] [0xb7363e65] [0xb7363fec] [0xb73629cb] [0xb7361101] [0xb7360f0b] banshee(mono_runtime_exec_main+0xbb) [0x80eb4ab] banshee(mono_runtime_run_main+0x172) [0x80eb7a2] banshee(mono_main +0x709) [0x805a619] banshee [0x8059a02] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xe0) [0xb7cbafe0] banshee [0x8059971] RPM reports this regarding H-B: helix-banshee-engine-gst-0.13.1-26 helix-banshee-plugins-extra-0.13.1-26 helix-dbus-server-0.4.0-65 helix-banshee-engine-helix-0.13.1-26 helix-banshee-plugins-DAAP-0.13.1-26 helix-banshee-plugins-default-0.13.1-26 helix-banshee-0.13.1-26 Is this a bug or a configuration problem on my part? I've had to change permissions for other on /dev/snd/* just to get a CD to play within H-B. If its a bug, has it been reported? If not, what is the appropriate site to post a H-B bug? Thanks.
