I am new to Linux and OpenSuse, so I decided to follow the guide at HowtoForge.com and install according to the instructions for, "The Perfect Desktop OpenSUSE 10.3". Every thing went great until I installed Google Earth. I installed Google Earth using these instructions: To install Google Earth, open a terminal and become root: su Then run cd /home/falko/Desktop wget http://dl.google.com/earth/client/cu...EarthLinux.bin sh GoogleEarthLinux.bin After the install, when I click on the application icon to run Google Earth I get the Google Earth screen for a moment and the the screen goes black for a few seconds and then I get the OpenSUse signon screen where must enter my user ID and password. After signing in, I am back to my Desktop. What is wrong and how do I correct the problem? -- explorer716 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ explorer716's Profile: http://forums.novell.com/member.php?userid=824 View this thread: http://forums.novell.com/showthread.php?t=293292 |

Have you installed 3D drivers and also the vera-bitstream font? I have google earth running fine here with the Nvidia drivers -- Cheers Malcolm °¿° (Linux Counter #276890) openSUSE 10.3 (X86-64) Kernel 2.6.22.12-0.1-default up 13:46, 2 users, load average: 0.07, 0.09, 0.22 |
