I'm thinking of installing OpenSuse very soon and I just need to know two
things: Will OpenSuse work with my Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter or is there a driver avalible for it? And Can I use beryl with my system? System Specs: Intel Celeron M 410 @ 1.46 GHz Proccessor 512 MB RAM 128 MB ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics Card Thanks Sam |

Sam,
you need the madwifi driver for the wireless NIC, and the proprietary ATI drivers from ATI to make it work, but yes, it should run fine. I asume it is a laptop: Check if the model is listed under http://en.opensuse.org/HCL/Laptops If you run into problems, tuxmobile.org is also a big help. The ATI card may work, or not, they just can't write kernel modules. It's more important for them to make a vista compatible card then ask a linux kernel developer for help how to make something that don't mess the kernel. /bb |
