Default Open Office

Open Office released version 2.2.0 near the end of March. Is this version
available as an RPM for updating from SUSE sites?

I had the same question. I looked at all the SUSE mirrors, etc and could not
find one. I downloaded the tar file from openoffice.org and unpacked it.
Got a bunch of rpms but they do not appear to update present version in
YaST so I have not tried to install them.

Not sure if older version needs to be uninstalled first? I was looking for
tar file to compile but did not find one.

I'm interested too.

I watch daily software.opensuse.org for updates on the OpenOffice repo.

Thanks, I hadn't got that one. Now at least I'm up to 2.1!

Does this actually show up in Yast? When I search on OpenOffice the only
version that shows up is 2.0.4. Do I need to add another source to get the
latest via Yast?

As a side issue, does this version of OO actually require 10.2?
(E.g., is a 64-bit 10.0 user out of luck?)

Sigh, I know, I need to download the CDs for 10.2 and do the upgrade...
So much software, so little DASD...
