Default 10.2 language selection

last week i installed 10.2 for a Danish friend...during the install i
specified a danish keyboard, danish localization and time zone BUT
selected english for the install program AND added Danish as an
alternative language

now (after some hours messing around in English--to make it as simple as
possible for her as she has only always used Winders[tm]) i have the box
about ready to deliver but can't figure out how to switch it to all Danish..

where IS that switch??

will it change all installed programs as well? (if not, how does one do
that?)

DenverD,

Yast, System, Language.
I think this doesn't necessarily alter the settings for the GUI, so e.g. in KDE, go to Personal Settings, Regional and Accessibility, Country/Region & Language.

You can have different settings for system and each of created users.
For systemwide settings add file
/etc/profile.local
with line
export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 # English
or
export LANG=da_DK.UTF-8 # Danish.

Than in user home directory, edit file
.profile
add
export LANG=da_DK.UTF-8

Note that file name is (dot)profile, not just profile.

This should make all users to have English or Danish whatever you set as
default, but each can have it's own settings.
