Default Banshee and MP3

When I attempt to play any mp3 file in Banshee it says "no codec." This
is very frustrating as everything else that I want to use appears to work.

Banshee will store and play Ogg files. I have nothing against this
except my music library is stored in mp3 format.

I must need another plug-in, I guess, but I don't know what that might be.

I am running Suse 10.2 and have the latest download of Banshee (0.11.3).

TIA.
