Default Konqueror broken in Suse 10.2. please help

Whenever I try to open any link from within a Konqueror folder I get the
message:

"There appears to be a configuration error. You have associated
Konquereor with application/x-desktop, but it can not handle this file
type."

I have not manually done anything to Konqueror, but it appears this
error started occuring after I upgraded OpenSuse 10.1 to OpenSuse 10.2
using the Update option in the OpenSuse 10.2 installation disk. It might
also have occured from getting the latest KDE upgrades from the
software/opensuse/downloads/kde3 repositories.

Please help me fix this so that Konqueror works properly again. It is
impossible using KDE in OpenSuse 10.2 with this serious error.
