I am running SuSE 10.1. Recently I have discovered that GnuCash and KmyMoney
will not install together. Installation of GnuCash result in dependency problems and will attempt to delete KmyMoney. If GnuCash is installed and I try to install KmyMoney I also run into dependency problems and the installer will try to delete GnuCash as a possible solution. Has anyone noticed this problem? |

How are you trying to install those applications, and where did you get them from? What versions are they? If you are getting them from the ftp.gwdg.de/linux/misc/suser-oc2pus/ site then you may not be getting all the dependencies as they are in the process of migrating those files to the Packman repository. I have previously installed gnucash (1.8.9-17 i586) and kMyMoney (0.8.5-3.1) on my computer under Suse 10.0 and ran into a little difficulty with the online banking files. Yesterday I updated the kMyMoney to version 0.8.5-99pm.cvs20060920 i586 from the Packman site. Both programs seem to be working without any problems. -- Later, Darrell Stec darstec@neo.rr.com Webpage Sorcery http://webpagesorcery.com We Put the Magic in Your Webpages |

I'm also running 10.1 and already had GnuCash installed. Just installed KmyMoney using YAST with the DVD as source. Had no problems - except Firefox crashed during the install! Graham |

Graham and Darrell, thanks for responding. I was trying to install Gnucash-2.0.1. I installed some new aqbanking packages which are needed by this version of Gnucash. These packages were causing the problem. After backing off to the previous version of aqbanking, I was finally able to re-install the 1.8.9-17 version of GnuCash. |

I too found trouble with the online banking. In fact I never attempted after hours of frustration. I wonder if anyone has it working with some of the major American banks like Chase, Sun Bank or USbank? -- Later, Darrell Stec darstec@neo.rr.com Webpage Sorcery http://webpagesorcery.com We Put the Magic in Your Webpages |

It's currently up to 2.2 in Opensuse 10.3. No update problems, either. |
