Hello,
I am experiencing the most curious of behavior in OpenOffice.org (both 2.0.2 and 2.0.3). I first noticed this in Calc, but it is an issue in Writer as well (possibly other facets of the suite as well). Whenever I attempt to do any border formatting via the "Format Cell" or "Paragraph" interfaces, as soon as one clicks on "Border", OOo disappears and the crash recovery screen comes up. Interestingly enough, setting borders using the toolbar interface works just fine. I tried running 'strace' to see output when it crashes, but the process detaches as soon as the GUI comes up. Has anyone seen this error before? I've tried rebooting the machine (it had been up for a few weeks when I noticed this error), I've tried upgrading OpenOffice.org from 2.0.2 to 2.0.3, and I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling -- all to no avail. I should point out that under a brand new user named 'test' the problem persists, hence it is not isolated to my particular user. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! -Matthew Hatch -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with SUSE - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFErqRnuFMwMKzmlJMRAh72AJ9ct2fiCG2mLYG6CVm5fS 38E6r2lgCgrVPb TfTkv3WgIsivrDJTy1zzbJA= =ol1T -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

I am about to post a "bug" report on the OO web site for the problem that occurs with writer. I have a copy of 2.0.3 running under Windows 2000. The problem does not occur there. I did notice that there is a reported "bug" for this issue under calc. > > I tried running 'strace' to see output when it crashes, but the process > detaches as soon as the GUI comes up. > > Has anyone seen this error before? The problem does not occur there. <snip> Interestingly enough, I was able fix this issue by going BACK to 2.0.2... So the problem was there in 2.0.2, was there in 2.0.3, and then disappeared in 2.0.2. I'm baffled to say the least.
