Default ktorrent disapears

Hello,
I am running Suse Linux 10.0, and when I download something using
ktorrent, it works fine a while, and suddently disapears. Do somebody
know any workaround to solve this ?

Thanks
Georges

I have no problem with BitTornado and rTorrent. They are ncurses-based
(or console-mode) clients. No need to use X!

Use "screen" to run them.

Hi Georges,

I also found ktorrent problematic under Suse 9.3 and as a result I no
longer use it. If you need a torrent client with a gui then I can highly
recommend the java based Azureus. It works best with Java 1.5, but runs
OK with the default 1.4.2 as well.

Regards

I had a similar problem when I went to use ktorrent for the first time.

I updated it to the latest version from the KDE-app.org site (then 1.2, I
notice they have beta 1 for 2.0 there now) and have not had any issues with
it.

Hi Georges,

I think you'll like it. If you get qany problems just holler. As I said
it works better with Java 1.5. The only realy issue with 1.4.2 is a
memory leak that appears when connected to some, not all trackers but
this appears fixed with Java 1.5

Enjoy.

I liked the visibilty that ktorrent gave but I found it kept stopping -
disappearing etc ( crashing?) However, I just continued by using
bittorrent (yast) and it is flawless. Bit lean on the eye candy, but
hey, it works!
