I'm having some issues and need some insight.
I am using Krdc to view other machine on our local network. The machines are connected via a GigaBit network. I have two issues I need help with. The first is an annoyance more than a problem. When I connect to the remote a screen saver kicks in after about 30 seconds. When sitting at the local machine the screen save doesn't kick in until the settings I have set in the powersave daemon, or the KDE desktop configuration. Second issue is a little more of a PITA. The keystrokes often times down register on the remote machine. I've tried all three setting (low, med, high) bandwidth and the results seem about the same. Is there some secret setting that I haven't found so that the remote won't miss the keystrokes ? Thanks for any advice. Steve |

I hate to follow up up on my own message but ...
Problem 1: Cause - Connection to actual session that is live on the terminal IE:vt:0 and that is physically on the monitor and is in the screen save mode. Apparently the VNC connection doesn't count for bringing the session out of screen saver (perhaps there is something I can set ?) Problem 2: Cause - In remote desktop connection for Network Sound is enabled. And either this by itself or couple with "High priority" sound cause the keystroke problems. This is resolved. Thanks, Steve Steve Richards wrote: > I'm having some issues and need some insight. > > I am using Krdc to view other machine on our local network.
