I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250 with which I capture video from my
analog camcorder with the following command: cat /dev/video0 > filename.mpg Works a treat, but I want to make an SVCD (no DVD burner yet.) I tried making a simple SVCD with Tovid - a background image, two menu items and a couple of correspinding videos. It grabbed the .mpg files output from my capture card, massaged them a bit, and wrote new ones, and created projectname.xml, video.bin and video.cue files. I tried to burn them with K3B, but it wouldn't play in my DVD player, nor on my computer. I've googled around a bunch, but it seems that most pages are starting with either .dv or .avi files, and outputing to DVD. I know I'm in the dark ages here, but would appreciate any pointers that one may offer... ....Kevin -- Kevin Miller http://www.alaska.net/~atftb Juneau, Alaska Registered Linux User No: 307357 |

Have you tried Videotrans? It makes a good job of splitting AVIs into m2v
and mp2 files although I've been having a slight problem with mencoder at the next stage, this could be due to my installation of RealPlayer. It's on Sourceforge and is a doddle to install. > I have a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250 with which I capture video from my > analog camcorder with the following command: > > cat /dev/video0 > filename.mpg > > Works a treat, but I want to make an SVCD (no DVD burner yet.)
