I am trying to get an internal "winmodem" to work with SUSE 10.
The modem is a Point Multimedia Systems MM9250 PCI 56K and uses the Lucent Lt Winmodem chipset. The modem is detected and configured by YAST ok but I cannot connect to it or communicate with it via either AT commands or wvmodem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as changing the port name. I know the modem works as I use it in my win2000 box ok. I know the modem communication protocols are working ok as tried it with a 28k external (hardware) modem with no problems, but obviously I want something a bit faster before I can migrate away from windoze. Thanks. Andrew |

It will tell your the REAL chip manufacturer, and in fact tell you whether smartmodem or another driver needs to be loaded. -- Later, Darrell Stec darstec@neo.rr.com Webpage Sorcery http://webpagesorcery.com We Put the Magic in Your Webpages |
