Default Removing Grub

SUSE 10.0, Win XP dual boot. What is the best way to change the boot loader
from the MBR to the /boot or /. How do I activate the partition? Looking on
the internet I have not found the way to change this from one to the other.
Will YaST remove it from the MBR and place it in /boot or /?

The reason for this is I need to change my Linux disk and be able to boot
windows for email during the time it takes me to set up linux again.

Is there a good document?

Thanks for the help.

If you just want to remove it and boot to windows then boot with the XP
disk got to the recovery console and :

fixmbr

or

fixboot

That is all that is needed

Actually I want to move grub to the /boot or / directory in case my disk
fails before I get it replaced, then I should be able to use my XP CD to
boot. I had the Linux disk unpluged the other day and I could not get XP to
boot. I assume that was because I had not run fixmbr and not because all I
had is an XP upgrade CD.

Thats for the response. I need Linux since I have not done much on Windows
since installing Linux, hope I never have to go back to.

Sorry my misunderstanding there, you can use Yast>System>Bootloader to
place where grub is installed.

There is also an option to replace the original MBR in there, SuSE takes
a snapshot of your old one before installing IIRC ( never used that
option myself linux only here )
