Hi,
I followed the instructions in http://waxborg.servepics.com/English...imedia.en.html as instructed in this forum to install xine and Kaffeine following my earlier posting that SUSE cannot play DVDs and now my xine and Kaffeine can play DVDs. The problem I encounter now with the versions I installed is that they will not play an AVI file. When I try playing an AVI file with xine, I get the message "There is no demuxer plugin available to handle **** Usually this means that the file format was not recognized." I get a similar missing demuxer message from Kaffeine. Am I missing anything? Thank you. Chin Gim Leong |

I apologize for the posting. The file was bad and so I could not play it.
Now I have managed to play a good file. I should have checked properly before posting the query. > Hi, > > I followed the instructions in > http://waxborg.servepics.com/English...imedia.en.html > as instructed in this forum to install xine and Kaffeine following my > earlier posting that SUSE cannot play DVDs and now my xine and Kaffeine can > play DVDs. > > The problem I encounter now with the versions I installed is that they will > not play an AVI file. > When I try playing an AVI file with xine, I get the message > "There is no demuxer plugin available to handle **** > Usually this means that the file format was not recognized." > I get a similar missing demuxer message from Kaffeine. > > Am I missing anything? > > Thank you. > > > Chin Gim Leong |
