I have a problem I need the community's help for. My wife is a seasonal
worker and, out of season she claims Employment Insurance. They now tell everyone who wants to listen that you can apply online, but don't tell you that you can't if you use Linux, only windoze and Mac. I find that unacceptable but can use your help putting together a solid case. My initial thought was that the whole idea behind using web applications is to abstract the OS from the application by having web services (browser and server) do the translation. Adherence to standards should mean that regardless of what browser I use, the web server shouldn't care. All it sees is just data. If anyone out there is Linuxland wants to jump in and help me develop that argument (or any other one, for that matter), your help is more than welcome. The OldSeaDog I want to die in peace and tranquility like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car. -- |

I live in Idaho and recently applied for and got my unemployment insurance from the state of California. All using Firefox on Linux no problems. I hope this info will help you. |

All using Firefox on Linux no > problems. I hope this info will help you. I am from Canada. However, I tried to 'fake it' using Firefox and it worked. Thanks for getting me pointed at a solution. In the longer term, I still want to get this fixed. There is something almost "dirty" about pretending I am a windoze user, if you know what I mean... The OldSeaDog I want to die in peace and tranquility like my grandfather, not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car. |
