I configured my TV card to work with KDETV -- I also configured the card
for tvtime as well -- in Suse 10.0, but I'm having an issue with the display of the image. My picture is displaying in black & white and I can't figure out why it wont display in color. I have an ATI TV Wonder PCI tv tuner card. |

In several other distros, I had no success with kdetv, partial with xawtv (not great video image), better success with TVtime (lots of tweaking for hue, contrast, etc.). I've gotten all three to work, but again with less success with kdetv & xawtv. TVtime still works best, still needs more tweaking to get it that way, syill needs different settings for each channel. And some of the darker shows (Alias, some CSI segments, 24, much of the various flavors of Law & Order) need brightening beyond what the rest of the syuff on the same channels does. Bill K |

Are you sure you have the right things setup for your region such as ntsc, pal, pali, paln etc... Another thing is if the card is getting recognised correctly and the right tuner is being used. Your card /should/ be either a card=63 or card=64, this can be adjusted by adding the parameter to the card config in: /etc/modprobe.d/tv add a new line with the following contents if needed: options bttv card=63 ( or 64 depending on which you have ) Other options can be added as well, there is a load of documentation in the kernel source under the video4linux dir for more info. With help from another board I was able to get it to work. I had to se the
card to 63 and change the tuner to 2. I then had to manually go through each channel and adjust the frequency until it was clear. |

I have a similar sort of thing with my card based on a saa7134 chipset, the card and tuner are never picked up correctly so I have to add them by hand. Glad you got it working.
