Default VNC

Hello everyone,

I've running Suse Pro 9.2 for sometime now and I've used ssh tech to
communicate with it (for administrative purposes) with some good
results. I'd like to try now the remote administration that suse allow
and i already enabled it to accept communications. My problem is that
I've got a windows workstation and i can't find a tool that enable me to
communicate with it. I think it would have to be a vnc tool but i can't
find any free tool (is there one?) or is there something else to connect
to suse remote administration?

Thank you for your replies.

Sure, most of them are free. SuSE has a built in VNC server and clients
(I use Krdc in KDE). For Windows, search for UltraVNC or TightVNC.

Search on Google for "Tiny VNC' or "Real VNC"

I've tried the "UltraVNC Viewer" and the "tightvnc viewer" and in both
of them the result is as demonstrates the picture in attach...a blank
screen. Is this normal??? I don't think so... :-)
Is there any other configuration to be made in SUSE?

Yes, it's normal. Edit your ~/.vnc/xstartup script to have it call the
GUI of your choice. The default is twm, so chage "twm &" to
"gnome-session &" for the Gnome desktop.
