I am a user of SUSE OSS 10.0. After downloading all the java and realplayer
packages and installing them, I realized that the only player to support MP3 in this distro is RealPlayer. I understand that this is for legal reasons, but with SUSE 9.3, so-called Multimedia Option Packs were available on European servers (and that's where I live), and after installing them every player on the system such as xmms and amarok was able to play MP3. Are those Packs also going to be available for 10.0? I have tried the amarok-helix package, but it doesn't work. Amarok says that it can't load the helix-engine whenever I start it up. I figured that this is because of the wrong directory paths in the configuration window (/usr/local/RealPlayer/plugins doesn't exist) but I have no idea what are the correct paths. Migulic |

One of the suggestions was to install kdemultimedia3-mad which helped me. You might also install libxine from Packman. Krister |
