Give the details of your "foot pedal" such as what it is, its make and model, and how it physically connects to the computer. Does it need a special program to make it work? Did you check to see if this hardware is supported in SuSE? All hardware needs software - called "drivers" - to tell an operating system (any operating system, Windows or Linux) how to use that hardware. Without drivers for the specific operating system you are using, the hardware will not work. The more details you can supply, the more specific an answer you can receive.
