A system I have is in a remote location. There's no broadband, there's no
narrowband. No access to internet. There is a toll station about 19 miles away from it. The only time it can talk to another computer is when someone goes out to check that it is still alive and hasn't gone walkabout or burned down or a deer didn't use it to sharpen it's antlers, etc. It can't come to us to fetch updates, we have to go to it. Is there a way to set up some kind of proxy or relay using another system? thanks... |

Find a mirror that allows rsync - I use ftp.belnet.be/packages/suse/suse/update Make a copy of the repository for your release Take this copy to your remote site - publish it over http and point your lonely server at it |

I would rather not have to get the whole repository. My connection gets throttled after an arbitrary amount. |
