Is there a package for SUSE 10 that is similar to Print Shop?

I would like an easy way to make signs, banners, cards, flyers, etc. with
clip art and photos.

thank you very much

Honestly, this comes up periodically without any good answer. People
will mention Scribus, but that is really overkill if you are just
aiming for the simplicity of Print Shop. I've got it figured out how to
make a card with OpenOffice, so if you want the rather convoluted way I
do it post back. I'm horribly embarrassed to admit this, but when I
want to make a greeting card I just turn on one of the Windows machines
and start The Print Shop program I've had since Win95. Maybe The Print
Shop would run under wine?

I have heard that it does though I have not got it here to test and not
sure how well it works.

That is why I did not answer, there are ways but as far as I know not in
a single application, OOo is OK for some stuff, barcode is fine for
small labels and business cards etc...

Just a quick look round and this is the first hit, have never tried it
so have no idea if it even works:

Thanks, Mark. I'll take a look. Naturally I prefer to do everything in
SuSE but as you so wisely say (and since this is my own attitude
naturally it is wise!) some tools are good for some jobs, etc. That's
how I feel about Windows. There are a very few things I still do on one
of the Windows boxen.

Cheers,

The Print Shop 6.0 page faults in msvcrt when initializing. I'm not surprised as I find that one is
lucky if Broderbund software runs on Windows.

Thanks, Larry. I won't bother messing around with it then. I hear you
about Broderbund products! I downloaded the app that Mark suggested but
haven't had time to try it yet.

Well obviously I did not click the box so it was not installed, just
installed it and ran, it was located in Office>presentation>

Tried a look at a couple of templates then clicked on a graphic I think
and it crashed :-)

Just disappeared off the screen, had no crash message or anything, will
delve later to see why.

Tried it again from the console, I chose the "dog" template, went to
designer and clicked on the card image and it threw a wobbler and
crashed again.

This could be because I am 64bit though so YMMV.

I already pointed him to that application, I tried it tonight and it
crashes all over the place, now whether it is just because I am using
64bit here i do not know but it is awful.

If i get chance ( very busy here this week though ) I will look further
into it and maybe send a bug report to the dev if it is the app that is
at fault.
