I just installed 10 on another box and after updating the installation
using YOU, I now have no mirrors, only the ftp SUSE site. Have the mirrors quit or is this a glitch? I had the mirrors when I updated using YOU but now they are missing. Kondorv |

All this after last update (from mirror in Utah, USA). Are there no longer any SUSE mirrors? Kondorv |

Yep, this happened to me too. Does anyone know what has happened or if
there is a work-around? Garry > I just installed 10 on another box and after updating the installation > using YOU, I now have no mirrors, only the ftp SUSE site. Have the mirrors > quit or is this a glitch? I had the mirrors when I updated using YOU but > now they are missing. > > Kondorv |

There is also an option in Yast>System>/etc/sysconfig Editor>System>Yast2>OnlineUpdate >YAST2_LOADFTPSERVER Make sure that is set to Yes. Can you check to see if the actual file "youservers" exists in /var/lib/YaST2/you ? HTH -- Mark Twixt hill and high water N. Wales, UK Novell Support Forums SysOp |

It looks to me to have been a transient glitch. Bill W |

It is a SUSE bug and has been reported. The work around was to manually type in the mirror url. I made a copy of youservers file before I got bit, When it disappears I hope I can just replace it. Have not seen where this has been fixed yet. -- russ |

I had a bit of a panic when I thought of us all lined up at ftp:SUSE waiting for our updates. All is well now. The glitch (or whatever) also prevented me from typing in alternative sites as it always reverted to ftp:SUSE. Overall, it is amazing that since purchase and install, there has been just that one temporary, fleeting glitch. I can remember the old days when a bit of magic was required to get anything to work. Thanks for the input. Kondor v |
