Default Mirrors disappeared

I just installed 10 on another box and after updating the installation
using YOU, I now have no mirrors, only the ftp SUSE site. Have the mirrors
quit or is this a glitch? I had the mirrors when I updated using YOU but
now they are missing.

I see now that all 3 machines have dropped the mirror sites from YOU,
leaving only the SUSE ftp site . All this after last update (from mirror
in Utah, USA). Are there no longer any SUSE mirrors?

Yep, this happened to me too. Does anyone know what has happened or if
there is a work-around?

Have you tried the http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/suse/ server or other mirrors
manually putting that in the box.

There is also an option in Yast>System>/etc/sysconfig
Editor>System>Yast2>OnlineUpdate >YAST2_LOADFTPSERVER

Make sure that is set to Yes.

Can you check to see if the actual file "youservers" exists
in /var/lib/YaST2/you ?

Hi:
I had the same experience on Tuesday, but by Wednesday all was well.
It looks to me to have been a transient glitch.

I saw this problem beginning discussed on the SuSE email list. It is a SUSE
bug and has been reported. The work around was to manually type in the
mirror url. I made a copy of youservers file before I got bit, When it
disappears I hope I can just replace it. Have not seen where this has been
fixed yet.

The next am, all was well. I did reboot each box in the am but the mirrors
came back as if by magic. I had a bit of a panic when I thought of us all
lined up at ftp:SUSE waiting for our updates. All is well now. The glitch
(or whatever) also prevented me from typing in alternative sites as it
always reverted to ftp:SUSE. Overall, it is amazing that since purchase and
install, there has been just that one temporary, fleeting glitch. I can
remember the old days when a bit of magic was required to get anything to
work. Thanks for the input.
