Howdy, I HAd a Q that has somewhat been bugging me for a while now. In order to add a YAST Repository, i have to go to: YAST - Change Source of Installation - and then manually add each repository entry. Thats fine and all... but its slow. Does anyone know where the FILE is that this frontend GUI writes to? i would like to just overwrite the file with a personal one. Any thoughts? >^^< |

The files are under /var/adm/YaST/InstSrcManager, and apparently they are not easily to be created manually. > Uwe, > okay, can you give me a commandline example (for syntax purposes)? Clive was faster <G> Bruce, all you had to do was enter the command I gave you and it would have shown you the options. Don't be so lazy ;-) Uwe -- Novell Support Connection Volunteer SysOp Please don't send me support related e-mail unless I ask you to do so. |

"..all you had to do was enter the command I gave you and it would have
shown you the options." What you really mean is "all i had to do was read your mind." : ) The only reason i asked for example syntax was because i already know what a PAIN-in-the-@SS it can be to add an "installation source" using the GUI on your first time. if you put a SPACE in the wrong spot, or start with a "/" in another spot, it JUST wont WORK! We All know this. i was just trying to save myself from needless tribulation. Nonetheless, thanks for the knowledge. im guessing something like this would be correct syntax.. installation_sources -e -a ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/ftp....3/yast-source >^^< |

Exactly, and I'd try the output of a man page or the short help of a command much more than what people type manually on the web :-) Glad you got it sorted!
