A few days ago I tried to boot my laptop running OSS 10.0. During normal
boot it seems to be working fine, then it just hangs after apache is run. I can boot into failsafe mode just fine, however if I try to init 5 from there, it just hangs as well. The only thinkg I can think of is that there was a recent kernel update and I think that may have hosed my system. I tried to rollback using Yast, but there is only one version of the kernel available. I can after booting in safe mode I can start X just fine. Also, I noticed that acpid is now complaining that there is no kernel support. I looked in the /boot directory for previous kernels, but I guess Yast removes them as well. Does anyone have any ideas how to return to a previous kernel or how to fix the current problem. I did try to re-install acpid hoping maybe some modules would be re-installed, but that did not help. Thanks. Mike |
