Using YOU, I successfully installed NVidia driver on my SuSE 9.3 system.
I know it works (NVidia splash, and support for some 3d games). It is when I shut down that the problem comes. When exiting X and shutting down, I expect to see a long list of messages showing the progress of various shutdown activities. Instead, I see a blocky pattern, quite unlike anything "normal". No hangs, no bugs seen whilst running X, but a nuisance nonetheless. It eventually disappears as the shutdown completes. This has happened with several releases, from (at least) 8.2 onwards. Any suggestions where I should look? Should an alternative driver not be loaded when exiting X? Dave |
