I want to use the KSC5601 characters in the Desktop 8,how to achive it?

This question seems off-topic for this group, but part of the answer
might be on-topic anyway.

The following advice is based on my experience with KDE in Suse 9.3 but
it might help you.

First use Yast/System/Language and select the relevant secondary
languages (assuming the primary language already suits you). Yast might
have to install a whole lot of new packages.

Next, and perhaps optionally, freshen your packages with the latest
versions for your system from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/m17n/ or a
mirror.

This is more or less how I once helped a friend to be able to work in
Japanese. It really wasn't that difficult except that I didn't know
where to start.

Perhaps other users of character sets for eastern languages can comment.
