gtk2-engines-2.6.4-9, gtk-engines-0.12-965 etc) breaks icons in KDE menus for Gnome applications. Mark |

That is the reason why I decided to downgrade to 3.4.0. Did you updated KDE at the same time? -- Alberto Garcia Baladia SuSE 9.3 i386 KDE 3.4.0 Kernel 2.6.11.4-21.8-smp |

You make a good point that it could be the KDE upgrade that causes Gnome applications' icons to be gone. Anyway, this problem is not enough to make me downgrade. I assume it will be fixed in the next round of upgrades. Besides, I think I see improvements in speed. |

Then I updated again only kdelibs3 after the downgrade to KDE 3.4.0 and the bug was there again. Finally, I compliled kdelibs3-3.4.2-15 from source and the result was the same. I will upgrade again to KDE 3.4.2 when a new version of the package is released. -- Alberto Garcia Baladia SuSE 9.3 i386 KDE 3.4.0 Kernel 2.6.11.4-21.8-smp |

Also, gnome2-SuSE-10.0-7 needs to be installed to get /opt/gnome/share/icons/GnomeCrystal. However, even after adding the symbolic links by hand and installing gnome2-Suse, I'm still missing icons. Maybe I'm missing a step. I don't really understand how the Gnome and KDE stuff is supposed to get integrated into the menu. Mark |

I fixed the problem downgrading kdelibs3-3.4.2-15 to kdelibs3-3.4.2-3. No conflicts with the other updates. You can find it here if you want to test it: ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.4.2/SuSE/ix86/9.3/ -- Alberto Garcia Baladia SuSE 9.3 i386 KDE 3.4.2 Kernel 2.6.11.4-21.8-smp |

I suggest we close this thread and continue the discussion there. news://support-forums.novell.com:119/6S%Qe.734$xP3.241@prv-forum2.provo.novell.com Somebody posted a reference to yet another forum where there is a solution other than downgrading to kdelibs3-3.4.2-3: http://www.linux-club.de/viewtopic.p...ght=kde+update By the way,it seems to work. |
