Default Watch TV in Opensuse

Seems simple right? YAST even has a "TV Card" section where it automatically found my card, installed it and then let me scan analog channels...which it found at least 60.

Now where is the TV program to view TV? Is it not installed by default? Kaffine seems to only work for "digital tv." Any help would be greatly appreciated.

+I would like a mediacenter-type program...are there any for opensuse?(not mythtv...I hate mythtv)

Thanks

No TV in Kaffeine - openSUSE Forums

Should I use your repos? They are not listed in the multimedia FAQ:
Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide - openSUSE Forums

So now I'm confused about which way to go...

So far, everything is working but no TV.

Let's get this a bit more clear.

Kaffeine can be used to watch digital TV. AFAIK it cannot deal with analog TV cards.

On microchip's repo: No they are not listed, since they're not official ones. Microchip has his own building account at opensuse.org. So his repo contains packages he provides to the community.

Please inform us about the TV card. Brand, type etc., detected?
Please also post output of:
su -c lspci
su -c lsusb
The commands will require the root password.

Thank you. My tuner is a Hauppauge HRV 850. I'm not against buying a different TV card, if required.

BTW, once I get this working, I'm going to install openSUSE on another computer with 3 Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 cards and I'm going to try some software that will support the Hauppauge 1st generation Media MVPs as front ends (maybe MythTV or SageTV or ????. So this is just a warm up (a learning experience).

Thank you. My tuner is a Hauppauge HRV 850. I'm not against buying a

BTW, once I get this working, I'm going to install openSUSE on another

Hi
As a test, in that scan command I gave you (in the other thread), have a
look in the /usr/share/dvb/ directory there are other files to scan
against which include cable from memory.

I guess it is not primarily intended for TV.

For now, I just want to get something simple working so I can learn a little more. But my next step will require an app that supports front end clients like the Hauppauge Media MVP (or another PC). MythTV and SageTV do this. I'm not sure about any others...
