Thanks caf.
I've installed get_iplayer and am playing around with it but have a question. The documentation lists some external programs that may be required by get_iplayer most of which I already have. One program I don't have is flvstreamer. Is this generally required? I can't find it any of the main SuSe repos or on the suse software web page.

You may need to set the terminal scrolling to 2000

OK thanks. One other thing. Have you updated get_iplayer to the latest 2.41 version or still using the pacman 1.71 version? Will running the command
Code:
get_iplayer --update

If you look at the get_iplayer site, it doesn't provide packages for SUSE. It can be trick to set up. I'll reply in more detail later. I have to work.

As I said, I use it as I demonstrated in the pictures
EG: get_iplayer --get 50 --vmode=flashhigh or get_iplayer --get 50 --vmode=flashvhigh or get_iplayer --get 50 --vmode=flashhd Thing is I can't recall exactly what I did to set up above and beyond the install from Packman. Because I have flvstreamer. But I'm not sure if I'm using IT or rtmpdump. I have a feeling the latter. I know I am using flvstreamer in Fedora and behaves differently. I think you have to su in a terminal and do: Code:
chmod 755 /usr/bin/rtmpdump Code:
get_iplayer --prefs-add --rtmpdump /usr/bin/rtmpdump I think I have the flvstreamer because I put it there. You can ask questions at the get_iplayer site too. I find the documentation difficult to wade thru.

Thanks. I managed to download a couple of programs using the default settings i.e. get_iplayer --get 123. I'll experiment with the modes, and the other switches when I have a little more time.
I agree about the documentation.
