I get the error "unable to mount audio disc. Cannot find drive /dev/sr0".
Data cd and dvd disks and DVD media are mounted ok. I didn't have this problem with Suse 10 installed on the same box. Thanks Andrew |

I'm using gnome desktop. I've tried with xms, vlc, totem, banshee, etc. But the problem is that the os isn't correctly finding and mounting the disc in the first place so nothing else can see it either.
Previous to getting DVDs to work audio cds were in fact being reported as "mounted" and appearing as an icon on the desktop as well as in file menus. Also insertion caused xmms to auto run and play the cd. None of these things happen now, as far as the system is concerned there is no disc present. Andrew |

Is this a new install?
Has it been updated. There was a bug in the release, but is fixed in updates.

Sorry, this is a new install as of six weeks ago. When first installed music cds were mounted and played perfectly. The problem has arisen after I finally got DVDs to play by installing VLC.
