Amaarok

I use amarok 1.4.10 (and I love it tbh)
Is there ANY way it might be playing mp3's etc TOO FAST?
(There is of course, an outside chance that I have simply got older since I last heard them) I am not asking, obv, 'cos the music sounds like Pinky & Perky, but is there a possibilty that by some codec mis-interpret: that the music might be @ (say) 15% faster than using another player/machine (dare I say OS)?
