Smile how to set rhythmbox as cd player

Hi
i would like to ask you, how to make a rhythmbox or amarok player for audio CD. I have installed OpenSUSE 11, with KDE4.1. I used to use Ubuntu - there was always ability to start to play audio CD immediatly after putting it into device. Is it possible to set it this way - to start to play in any of this programs after putting them in device DVD-Rom? Thanx for answer

No, you can't do this. There is no way to play audio CDs under opensuse. Apparently, the ability to simply drop a CD into the slot and have it play sounds through the speakers, or to manually start a CD player application and launch CD playing through it are operations that are simply far too complex for the opens source community to understand, let alone master.

Your best bet is to dual boot, and whenever you want to do something as esoteric as listen to music you can shut down Linux, boot up again in Windows, stick your CD into the CD or DVD drive, and marvel as sound recorded on the disk magically begins to emanate from your speakers.

In short, opensuse is utterly pathetic when it comes to the simplest things.

God help you if you want to watch video.

Eh? What on earth would make you claim this? Works fine here.

That works fine here as well. Maybe your problems are operator error?

Like throwing old meat off the fantail of a boat and waiting for the action to follow, a vision of hunched shoulders grimly watching green phosphor through muggy, darkened air.
