I found this a very interesting thread.

I must admit however, that I am not keen on all of the apps on the list. I kinda picked and choose those that I wanted.

I do, however, appreciate very much, the effort that has gone into putting together such a list. It is a very good, quick and easy way to get to see what multimedia apps are out there for linux, especially for those new to OpenSuse or linux generally.

Thanks a lot for the work.

Version 7 of the Multimedia Pack Portable for openSUSE 11.1 32 bit now available, the files are updated at Jul 24th, the download links are available at:

Source repos are:


Packman ("pm" letters in the file indicate that it came from this repo)

oss (if it doesn`t have the "pm" letters in the name the rpm file comes from this repo)

I haven't tested, but I think it will not work with 11.2.
