Can anyone give me any pointers?
I recall seeing this from some time back. I did a search and found the thread here where a similar error was noted:
Openmovie Editor? - openSUSE Forums
In the previous thread, I recommended the user contact the packager and request the packager look at the package. It appears to me the user did not follow my recommendation, or alternatively they did notify the packager, but the problem could not be fixed. In any event, no one other than myself contributed any more to the thread, so since I am not an open movie editor user, I let the matter drop.
As noted, I was not (and I am still not) an open movie editor user, but to check to see if your encounter is 64-bit specific, I installed open movie editor from packman on a 32-bit opensuse install, and then tried to run it. I obtained this error:
Code:
oldcpu@athlon:~> openmovieeditor
When submitting a BUG report, or SUPPORT request, please include the following information:
(See Help->About... too)
----8<-----------------------
Open Movie Editor Version: 0.0.20081029
Libquicktime Version: 1.1.0
Libquicktime API Version: 9
/etc/lsb-release:
LSB_VERSION="core-2.0-noarch:core-3.2-noarch:core-2.0-ia32:core-3.2-ia32"
----8<-----------------------
Illegal instruction
So my view is the problem still exits in one form (or a different form).
So as before, I recommend that if you wish to use this package, you need to ask the packager to take a look at its non-functionality.
