Default Video Editing

Can anyone recommend a video editing software for openSuse 11. Gnome environment? Nothing too fancy, just something I can play with and edit a load of old videos (old uni vids) and music together.

Avidemux should do what you need.

Take a look at the options on this site:
Video editing - openSUSE

I use kdenlive (with support from avidemux and dvbcut and tovid).

Hmmmm, I really wanted to use the open movie editor but I had issues with xvid. It needed to downgrade some things and it wouldn't let me ignore some dependencies.

If you do go to use avidemux, there is a very helpful forum: Avidemux2 Forum

I would recommend it; I sought help there to convert a file from one size to another, and I got quick and accurate help;

we have been fortunate I think to have a programme called MainActor; sadly, it is not available anymore, but works very well for us;

hmmmmmmm
I thought I would install OpenMovieEditor to have a look at it; installed into Gnome in 11.0; each time I click on the directory where some video files are stored; the programme crashes, sadly; will report this;
