Default Wine and The Sims

The Sims just happens to the best selling PC game of all time. And my mother is beginning to harass me about getting a Windows computer just so she can run it again. For whatever reason, it doesn't appear in the wine application database that anyone can get it to run with Wine.

However, Mandriva/Transgaming used to sell a retail box version of The Sims running under Wine. This was before expansion packs, but it *should* be possible on some level.

Are there any Wine experts I might be able to work with to try and get this going?

Sorry. I know it's late, but maybe others are interested too.

I found this: WineHQ - The Sims 3 x

It says it runs normally through wine. I didn't try it myself, though.
