Loved this game the last time I used SUSE (v9). I then migrated to Vista. I regained my senses and am back with Linux.
I installed v11.1, 64-bit yesterday, from the repository and not the DVD to ensure I have all the latest packages, including the nvidia 180.29 driver. Armagetron will not load once clicked. ![]() Has this happened to anybody else? SYSTEM SPECS: Asus P5Q Deluxe 8GB RAM Q9650 CPU 300GB HD (will be making a RAID-5 array in the future) nVidia GTX260 video card (768MB RAM) Thanks! |

yes, so I compiled it myself and it works perfectly
![]() you can first try with rpm from that page, but I can promise you nothing, compiling from source works with no problem Armagetron Advanced :: a Tron clone in 3D |

Same problem here, openSUSE 11.1 32-bit. Haven't tried the suggested source-compile, yet.
Haven't done any compile from source on SUSE, yet. Wonder if installing automake, checkinstall, krpmbuilder first are necessary. |

I've got the same problem. Haven't tried compiling from source, nor do I really want to if it can be avoided.

Have you tried starting it from the command line to see what error messages (if any) is generated?

The package from the games repo works fine.

I installed the game with Yast and had the same problem. It was also telling me the data files were missing. Last night I updated the game using Yast as there was a newer version available and now it works fine. There never were any data files for the game listed in the package manager.
