Default kid3 problems after upping to 11.2

After upping to 11.2 kid3 crashes as soon as a vbr
mp3 is loaded (the mp3 edits fine if converted to
cbr). I tried earlier releases and compiling from
the source but same crash.

any ideas? other tools easytag and amarok seem to
handle them fine

also kid3 is not displaying tags for m4a's

any ideas? again easytag and amarok seem to handle
them fine

thanks

Have you tried running it from a terminal to see if you get any error messages when it crashes?

contacted the author on kde-apps.com and the id3lib
was bad, he pointed to a revised one
http://download.opensuse.org/source/....237.1.src.rpm

Still not displaying m4a's

m4a problem is because openSuse does not include
libmp4v2-devl when generating the binary
