konqueror does not start ftp.

When i try to log to an ftp account to my university
but konqueror shows me that..

what can i do?

Hi
Have you tried from the command line (konsole), just to eliminate a
network issue?

ftp <your_ftp_site>
or
ftp <login_name>@<your_ftp_site>

Not sure why this would fail but perhaps try another program.... Firefox
for example. If konqueror actually loads up a specific program in
KDE-land in order to do this then Firefox should still work just like the
command line does.

Also what version on openSUSE, KDE, konqueror and kdelibs (where

added an addition KDE4 repository have you?

If so can you provide the output from;

This is a known bug. Searched but couldn't find it. Update to KDE4 4.3.3 and problem will be gone. The io-slave that's supposed to handle the ftp protocol doesn't work, therefore konqueror cannot connect.

You should be able to connect through firefox or opera. It's a konqueror only problem.

Hence the reason to ask for the rpm output, is the following installed?
This is in the update repository;

kdelibs4-4.3.1-6.5.1.x86_64.rpm

I was wondering if it's updated?
Else you will need to wait for the official release next week as I'm
sure it's fixed and temporarily use a KDE4 ftp client instead of
konqueror?
