I've searched and cannot find the information I need.
Is there an easy way to export my folders/mail and contacts in Kmail to a usb stick, to allow me to import on a new install. |

You don't mention what KDE you are using. So, in case of KDE3.5 the mail files that KMail use are under ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/
In case of KDE4 the same files are under ~/.kde4/share/apps/kmail/mail/ directory. You can copy all these files (don't forget the hidden ones) into a USB stick and then import them into another installation. I used this way for importing all the mails I had into a new installation of KDE4 in FreeBSD 8.0-RC2, so it really works. It's better to import the e-mails using the File->Import Messages KMail menu instead of just copying them into the same directory of your new installation. Happy hacking |
