Default FONTS - How to install?

Hello,

Can someone please tell, where to get and how to install fonts on openSUSE 11.1. I'm using KDE desktop. Anyway I would like to import fonts to /usr/share/fonts .. hope this is the right location? do I just copy a folder to above mentioned location?

Also I need to use those fonts in GIMP, openoffice, mail client ...

Is there some special way to import fonts or all above apps will see them automatically?

Thanks

Open Yast-Software Management
search: fetchmsttfonts

this will drag in all M$ font's

Otherwise just create a folder for your font collection eg; /My_Sucky_Fonts and copy to /usr/share/fonts/
Then use the Configure Desktop to link to the new .dir

You can install new fonts from:
Kickoff menu -> Personal Settings -> General(tab) -> Font installer.

If you want to install M$ fonts, follow this howto:

Programming and Linux: Install MS fonts in openSUSE 11.1
