Default My monitor won't turn off automatically

Hello, I set up my desktop settings so that the monitor should turn itself off after 7 minutes of being idle. I have the screensaver set to go to a blank black screen, too. The screensaver works, but the monitor won't power off. Does anyone have any tips on how I could fix this? I have KDE 3.5.10, Suse 11.1, and kernel 2.6.27.7-9-default #1 SMP 2008-12-04.

Try turning off the screensaver completely to see if that helps.
