Default Scaning software

I have just installed Suse 11.2 on my system. I am still trying to get the general feel for it. I have also recently acquired a Xerox 8560MFP colour laser printer with a scanner. They did provide a very small file to download and click on the appropriate file, in order to choose the right printer to install. Ok.

I was wondering, however, if there was any other 3dr party scanning software available for linux, or even specifically OpenSuse 11.x. Something like Omnipage or Paperport for windows.

Thanks.

Why do you want to use a 3rd party software?
Did you try kooka? (If you are using KDE).
If you want to use it from command line (or from shell scripts), use scanimage or scanadf.
