I have Intel Mobile 945GM in my Dell Inspiron E1505 as well. I have no problems here.
Do these effects work with a live cd? Is your compiz up to date? I know the latest Compiz (0.8.2) had some bugfixes in it.

thank you for the answer.
compiz version is 0.7.8-9.1 xorg-x11 version 7.4-1 the driver used in xorg.conf is intel kernel linux-su9e 2.6.27.7-9-pae only the windows scaling doesn't work. After the correct scaling the computer hangs you cannot select the window. I did the installation in both computer using the network install.

Hmm... Same for me, except for the kernel-pae. And my compiz version. I'm using kernel-default 2.6.27.19-3.2.1 and version 0.8.2 of compiz.
Try upgrading to the latest compiz and see if that helps.

Compiz Fusion - openSUSE
You can one-click install from the above site. This will upgrade you to compiz 0.8.2.

Glad I could help,
Remember to do at least one little tweak for compiz to correctly function. Open CompizConfig Settings Manager. Go to the section Window Management. Put a check next to Window Rules then click into it. Find the rule "above" then type Code:
state=fullscreen Good Luck, Ian
