Perfect Fix to this Problem was:
Install Opera Browser.... And configure Amsn to use Opera for my Hotmail account. And I use Firefox for everything else... Ahwell... That will do for now

Is there a solution for fixing hotmail access through thunderbird as well? It used to work fine, but now since the update I get a negative vibes reply from the server when I login.
![]() For people who didn't know how to use thunderbird for hotmail: WebMail You need to install webmail and hotmail. |

I'm with you all as microsoft is concerned, though, for the moment I do still have a hotmail account (changing very soon, now). Check out ies4linux. It is an auto-installer for internet explorer 6 for linux. I use it to get onto sites that are not linux friendly (fox, msn, and various Hitachi sites (for work)). It works for the new hotmail upgrade.

Better solution: I just downloaded a firefox add-on called User Agent Switcher. Download this, set it to Internet Explorer 6 (Vista) and hotmail works just fine. That'll show those Microsoft *insert profanity here*!!!!!

It did not work for me controlling my mother's PC remotely via nx. With that I was able to enter ascii characters into the text box (which did not work before) but the "send" button did not work. That "may" be an "nx" limitiation (ie associated with the remote control software). I'll check that later when my mother gets up (she is 9 time-zones away) and see if she locally pushes the "send" button, will it work.

Oldcpu,
What about the about:config option by 6tr6tr how did that work? I tried that out & it WFM. As I stated it even got rid of the "Upgrade Your Browser" page. One thing I also found out though is that the User Agent switcher does keep defaulting it back to SUSE. Disabling or uninstalling the UA will keep the about:config at Firefox. Disabling is best just in case you or your Mom need the UA.
