@Fitsiu
I don't wnat to be a PITA (sorry) I've followed your steps exactly as you described above, now on a x86 system (GNOME) and the X server will not start... I'm starting to think that this is probably due to not executing SuSEconfig at the end of the command.... is this right? Thanks in advance Luis PS. By the way, I'm the same as lucasuam |

@Fisiu
I can answer myself Yes... I forgot that you mentioned in your 2nd or 3rd post... sorry to be a PITA... By the way you said you executed SuSEconfig and "ldconfig" ... which I don't know what that is.. is that necesary? if so... how do I do it? Again sorry for being a PITA Luis PS. Fonts in FF and OOs improved a lot . Thanks |

> I don't know what that is.. is that necesary? if so... how do I do it? yes, it is necessary anytime you import new libraries....they need to get 'integrated' into your system by ldconfig...to do that just, open a terminal and Code:
su - (don't forget the "-") <enter> [type in root pass] (you won't see what you type) <enter> ldconfig <enter> -- see caveat: http://tinyurl.com/6aagco DenverD (Linux Counter 282315) via NNTP, Thunderbird 2.0.0.14, KDE 3.5.7, SUSE Linux 10.3, 2.6.22.18-0.2-default #1 SMP i686 athlon |

I believe u!
In my case, I preffer people think I'm stupid :lol... But there is good reason for this... If everyone should've give detail instructions, most probabily is that there will be more linux users who will watch the posted answers with the benefit of "less questions in forums" (I know this is relative but benefit). Again, Thanks so much and Kind Regards Luis |

Everything is working nice and smooth, just my x86_64 Box has'nt been fixed, (I need some time) but I truly believe everything will work as expected. No more mistakes this time. BTW, if you ever get the 1.6 cairo packages to be fixed/patched, please let us know, so we try'em ASAP. Kind Regards Luis |

To everyone involved in this thread:
I've made a Spanish Tutorial in my blog, off course giving the credit to the people involved (Fisiu, DenverD and 74141). This probabily is not the best written tutorial but I wanted just to leave a precedent (which most probabily will help me more than others ), however, I'd like you to take a look, specially to the command line (which everyone can understand ) and if possible feed me back with your comments (all kind).Even when I opened this blog some weeks ago, I must say that I have no experience on that field, so all critics are wellcome. Thanks in advance Luis |

You don't need any more cairo from 10.3.
Cairo 1.6.4 with working subpixel paches are available in my repo. Index of /repositories/home:/Fisiu Best regards. |
