Default Hi compiz-fusion effects problem

I have HP tx 2001 au laptop...
specifications can be ound here.

HP Pavilion tx2001AU Notebook PC*-* Product Specifications*

I have installed opensuse11.0 on it.
problem is with the desktop effects.
i tried to enable the effects like ring switcher,
desktop gears, atlantis (aquarium), window close, open, minimize effects.
but when i save the changes and close the dialog box that asked for options, nothing works.

is it a package problem?
I have installed every single package, but if there is a single package to do the work for me plz let me know!

or if it is a setting (config) problem then plz do assist with that also.

Did you try fusion-icon? To me it makes a try great job. Anyway i have also to advise that my compiz environment has been completely broken after an upgrade of the package so i had to quickly downgrade to make it run again.

The first thing would be that you need the NVidia proprietary drivers to get 3D acceleration. Do you have them installed? If your video card does not have 3D acceleration enabled = no desktop effects (the opensource NVidia drivers included by default don't have 3D support (yet)).

Check out this page for more details and specifics voor NVidia : NVIDIA - openSUSE

Also have a search on this forum for NVidia related threads.. Many should contain good pointers and tips.

Cheers,
Wj

that is wierd!
well i tried "fusion-icon" it enables compiz environment.
but this also have some problem, if i run KDE4 with plastik skin it will not show me the minimize, close and maximize buttons that used to be at right most top corner.

But i was talking about desktop effects.
I think fusion is a environment and there are some plugins that make screen wooble, transparent and among them we have some effects named ATLANTIS (some aquarium cube), gears, fire plugin (window close/open event). and those plugins are not working at all!
I opened desktop effects manager or whatever. then i selected the ring switcher effect by selecting the radio button next to it, and within a blink of the eye(without doing anything) it got unselected.

if the plugin is not installed it must throw an error sayin that plugin not available!
but it is not!
i think i have made myself clear enough now, with exact events that happened.
