Thank you for this thread. Fixed my problem.

There is one side effect I have; I can't seem to change my wallpaper. I just have the default SUSE green. I kept the same .kde4 and all other setting dirs. I even tried renaming the .kde4 to something to login with default config, but even with that, I could not change my wallpaper. I can set it to slide show and it will do the slideshow with other wallpapers. I also tried using pictures in other locations.

I'd like to give changing the config file via text editor, but don't know where that is, or is there another option?

NM. Guess I was to quick (sorry, I'm at work). Looks like a problem. See here.

P.S. Thinking the wallpaper setting might be in something mentioning "plasma" found .kde4/share/config/plasma-appletsrc. My selected wallpaper is listed, but getting the default SUSE green.

The wallpaper is a known issue and will be fixed in Factory soon. See https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=429971
