Hash: SHA1 There have been a couple threads in the network-internet forum recently as I recall. Anyway, Yast: Network Devices: Network Card: <traditional or network manager>: DNS and Host Names (or something like that) and give it a name. Be sure to uncheck the option about changing your hostname via DHCP. Good luck. victorcardoso wrote: | openSUSE 11.0; KDE 3.5 | | The machine name I've chosen during install is not used by openSUSE. | I've given it the name "iguana" (I know, its really original), and it | displays "00173189e8e3" on the Kmenu, on the Control Center and even on | the Konsole. Try changing the name in "/etc/HOSTNAME". I think this is one of those things that requires a restart. The file "/etc/hosts" also has that name associated to some address. But you can change that file anytime.
Hope it helps. |
